- If you are going to purchase a new phone system today, the only reasonable choice is an IP solution. Most development on traditional PBX systems has ceased. VoIP is fully ready, mature, cost-effective, and reliable. Accept it and move forward.
- You don't necessarily have to use the Internet to use VoIP or IP-PBX. Most IP-PBX deployments today still use traditional carrier services such as analog (POTS) or digital (PRI) lines to connect to the public telephone network. While there are some cost benefits in using an IP-PBX in this way, they are small - regardless of what ads claim. You won't see a significantly smaller phone bill. But you can still save a lot on enhanced applications such as call centers and IVR solutions.
- While you don't have to use the Internet for voice service, you now have that option. By consolidating voice and data traffic across an Internet connection, you can eliminate the monthly cost of analog or digital voice lines. Using an Internet Telephone Service Provider (ITSP) can significantly lower your monthly usage cost.
