Network Management Policy

This policy outlines the network management practices employed by Seimitsu for its broadband Internet access services ("Broadband Services"). It aims to assist current and potential customers in making informed decisions about using Seimitsu's Broadband Services.

Seimitsu is committed to ensuring that its customers can fully enjoy the Internet. To achieve this, Seimitsu manages its network to provide a safe, secure, reliable, fast, and affordable broadband Internet environment.

Service Description and Expected Performance

Seimitsu offers various Broadband Services, each with different capability speeds. Speed refers to the data transmission capacity of a Broadband Service, measured in kilobits, megabits, or gigabits per second (Kbps, Mbps, or Gbps). While basic activities like emailing without attachments or web browsing do not require high speeds, tasks such as streaming high-quality video and transferring large files benefit from higher-speed services. Seimitsu will assist customers in selecting the service speed that best meets their needs.

Seimitsu monitors availability, latency, and utilization of its network. The company attempts to maintain advertised speeds and will send technicians to resolve speed issues if they are within Seimitsu's network. However, actual speeds may vary due to factors beyond Seimitsu's control, such as internal wiring conditions, customer device configurations, external network congestion, and website server speeds.

In the event of heavy congestion, Seimitsu may temporarily restrict the accounts using the most bandwidth. If the congestion continues unabated, Seimitsu may restrict the Internet traffic of high-volume users during significant congestion periods. Affected customers will still have Internet access but may experience slower download/upload times and reduced performance during online activities.

Network Management Practices

Seimitsu continuously monitors network connections to assess utilization rates. Based on this data, Seimitsu proactively increases capacity by adding Fiber Optic nodes, transport, aggregation routers, and bandwidth. In rare cases of network congestion, customers may experience slower speeds, but Seimitsu actively re-routes traffic to alleviate congestion.

Seimitsu's network management practices are application-agnostic, based on current network conditions, and not influenced by customer size, activities, protocols, or applications. Seimitsu does not manage congestion by capping usage or reducing speeds after a certain usage threshold. Instead, the focus is on anticipating and avoiding congestion through targeted capacity augmentation.

Network Security

Seimitsu does not monitor or protect customer traffic from spam, viruses, denial of service attacks, or other malicious activities. Customers use the service at their own risk and are advised to purchase spam filtering, ransomware, and antivirus software. Customers experiencing malicious activities should contact Seimitsu for assistance in addressing the issue.

Customers whose actions threaten Seimitsu's network or violate the Terms and Conditions or Acceptable Use Policy will be asked to cease such activities immediately. Failure to comply may result in service suspension or termination.
